Providence Roller Derby Recruitment Semester 1 -- 2016-17
OVERVIEW
PRD is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive and supportive environment for all women to engage and participate in the sport of roller derby.
Providence Roller Derby hosts 2 recruitment semesters per year. Semester 1 runs from October to April, Semester 2 is from May to October. Each semester begins with a Recruitment Meet + Greet and a Skills Clinic followed by a 20 week program comprised of 10 weeks of skating skills training and 10 weeks of roller derby specific skills training.

REQUIREMENTS + EXPECTATIONS
Must be 18 + to skate with Providence Roller Derby. Volunteers are accepted at any age!
Regular attendance at weekly practice (60% Requirement). Schedule changes will be noted in advance.
Physical ability to perform skills safely.
Skate equipment including helmet, mouth guard, elbow pads, wrist guards, knee pads + quad skates. Additional protective equipment is optional.
Volunteering at PRD Bouts to learn the sport rules + to get to know PRD skaters. This includes volunteering as an NSO - Non-Skating Official (Minimum 2 NSO Credits Required).
Volunteering at Community Events.
Financially responsible for purchasing skating gear + paying monthly dues for practice.
